Designing a house on such a narrow plot presented a significant challenge, as the space limitations posed several constraints on creating a comfortable and functional living environment. One of the primary concerns during the design stage was to mitigate the risk of long, dark corridors and cramped, enclosed spaces that could make the interior feel claustrophobic.
To address this challenge, we innovatively incorporated an internal courtyard into the layout, strategically placing it at the heart of the home. This open-air space not only allows for an abundance of natural light to flood the surrounding rooms, but it also creates a sense of openness and airiness throughout the entire home.
The courtyard serves as a focal point, providing a visual connection between the different areas and enhancing the overall flow of the design. By integrating this element, we were able to ensure that every corner of the house remains bright, inviting, and well-ventilated, creating a harmonious balance between the narrow plot and the desire for a spacious, airy home.
